World Literacy Day 2022
In recent years, the expansion of international literary efforts has been impacted by the rapidly shifting global environment. Around 24 million pupils may never return to a formal education in the wake of the epidemic, with 11 million of them expected to be girls and young women. To ensure that nobody is left behind, it is vital to put into place an integrated strategy to enhance and change the current learning environments and enable literacy learning from a lifetime learning viewpoint.
‘Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces’ was the theme of International Literacy Day on September 8th, 2022, and provided an opportunity to re-evaluate the fundamental importance of literacy learning spaces for promoting resilience and ensuring everyone has access to high-quality, equitable, and inclusive education.
