IYC COUNTRY PROGRAM

IYC Worldwide

By setting up IYC chapters all around the world, the International Youth Council was able to successfully communicate with and disseminate its services to UN member countries across several continents. Initially, the International Youth Council planned to establish its headquarters only in the United States. Despite this, it evolved into a large youth organization with over 22,000 members in 72 United Nations member countries, including colleges, business groups, and youth councils. Members of the organization have actively participated in key international decision-making processes as a force within the framework of the MDGs and SDGs mandates of the United Nations since 2015. On the ground, members of the organization have worked on many issues, from gender equality to sustainable development. The IYC team formally revoked all IYC memberships and closed all IYC chapters on December 31st, 2022. The IYC’s new country program, international volunteer program, and global projects were officially launched on January 1st, 2023.

IYC Country Program

The Country Program (CP) is IYC’s distinctive strategy that was officially launched on October 1st, 2022, to encourage inclusive and sustainable youth development in UN Member Countries. By working with the youth and concentrating on areas with significant growth potential that are in line with the national development plan, the program helps a country achieve its SDGs. A multi-stakeholder collaboration led by youth supports the CP. It creates synergies with current government and partner efforts in youth development. IYC uses the CP to put the organization’s mission and SDGs into practice.
