International Youth Day 2026 – Indore: Event Recap

On 11 August 2026, the International Youth Council (IYC) proudly co-organized International Youth Day 2026 in Indore, alongside Indore 2030, hosted by DCBM, with support from the National Citizens’ Committee and the Global Vision India Foundation.

Held under this year’s global theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” the event brought together young people from across the city for an afternoon of dialogue, connection and shared purpose.

A Strong Youth Response

Over 100 young people between the ages of 14 and 24 were invited to participate. Several school and college students made adjustments to their academic schedules to attend, reflecting the strong interest and enthusiasm among Indore’s youth to be part of a platform created for meaningful engagement and dialogue.

Connecting Through Dialogue

The programme opened with an interactive activity segment designed to encourage direct engagement and connection among attendees.

This was followed by the panel discussion, “Same Dreams, Different Roads,” featuring three young professionals from different fields. The discussion explored different journeys and experiences while highlighting the common aspirations shared by young people across different contexts. The session was well received by the audience and encouraged participants to reflect on their own journeys and possibilities.

A Message of Resilience

Mir Ranjan Negi delivered the keynote address, sharing his powerful account of resilience, determination and comeback. His journey resonated strongly with the young audience and offered an inspiring reminder of the importance of perseverance in overcoming challenges.

Dr. Sonal Sisodia, Principal of DCBM, and Manas Dowlani, Founder of Indore 2030, also addressed the gathering, reinforcing the day’s theme and highlighting pathways for young people to engage beyond their local communities, including opportunities for meaningful participation in United Nations-linked initiatives and global youth platforms.

Looking Ahead

The International Youth Council is proud to have been part of an initiative that created space for young people to connect, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for continued engagement.
