Project Description

The five-day event was organized to develop an action plan that would be incredibly effective in protecting children's rights and minimizing child marriage by strictly adhering to SDGs 4 and 17, as well as to provide recommendations for promoting the global cause by establishing a network of professionals where participants pledged to make considerable efforts to satisfy their developmental, health, and economic requirements, as well as the issues that nations in exceptional circumstances, such as least-developed countries (LDCs) and middle-income countries, encounter.

Strategic Goals:

To educate and empower young people globally, both men and women, on human rights and gender views.
Governments should raise awareness and improve law enforcement responses to issues of gender violence, especially child brides. to share experiences, best practices, and obstacles to avoiding child marriages at the national, regional, and global levels.
Coordination among youth advocates, youth organisations, NGOs, UN agencies, and other stakeholders should be improved.

Challenges

Local and international speakers addressed key issues concerning child marriage through interactive lectures, case studies, video documentaries, skill-sharing workshops, multi-media presentations, and informal dialogues in which audiences actively participated.

Solutions

Took significant action to address their developmental, health, and economic needs, as well as the difficulties of low- and middle-income countries, which are key factors in child marriage.
A youth action plan and voluntary pledges were proposed.

Benefits and Impact 

Many young attendees proposed strategies for strengthening the global cause, including developing a professional network of lawyers, doctors, psychologists, and journalists.
It was emphasized that ending child marriage demands attaining gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
