In 2013, the IYC chapter of Sri Lanka organized "The Green Conference" under the direction of the IYC chairperson Sadham D Zarjahan. The event was held under the theme “On the Road to Youth Engagement: Moving Beyond Sustainability.” The primary focus of this conference was to establish youth leadership that will assure environmental sustainability and develop global partnerships. The plenary speakers for this conference were Christopher Stampar the International Director, Clayton Louis Ferrara the National Science Director, and Chris Castro the executive director of IDEAS For Us.
