International Youth Council Expresses Solidarity with Nepal Following Devastating Floods

The International Youth Council (IYC) stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal following the devastating floods that struck the Bhote Koshi River area of Rasuwa District on Wednesday, 10 Bhadra 2083 (26 August 2026).

The disaster has caused significant loss of life, displacement, and destruction of property and infrastructure, with severe impacts reported across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha districts. Search, rescue, and relief operations remain ongoing.

At this difficult time, the International Youth Council extends its deepest sympathy to the families who have lost loved ones, those who remain missing, and all those whose lives have been disrupted by the floods.

We recognize the efforts of Nepal’s authorities and responders, emergency personnel, volunteers, humanitarian organizations, and local communities working tirelessly to search for survivors, provide emergency assistance, and support families in need.

As an international youth organization, IYC believes that solidarity must extend beyond borders. Young people and communities around the world have an important role to play in standing with people facing humanitarian emergencies and supporting responsible, coordinated relief efforts.

Support Through Official Channels

The Government of Nepal has appealed to citizens, organizations, and institutions to support the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund and the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund as part of the national response.

Individuals and organizations wishing to contribute financially are encouraged to use only official contribution channels published by the Government of Nepal.

Official bank account details and QR codes are available through the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers of Nepal (OPMCM).

IYC encourages anyone considering a contribution to verify payment details directly through official government sources and to remain cautious of unofficial fundraising appeals, impersonation accounts, or unverified donation requests.
